The thirteenth Institute seminar at the University of Alberta took place on March 27, 1979. B. Krawchenko, research associate at the Institute and Visiting assistant professor of political science, spoke on "The Intelligentsia of Soviet Ukraine." The seminar focused on three issues. First, an analysis of the structure of the intelligentsia of Soviet Ukraine was given. Second, based on recent Soviet studies of inter-ethnic relations, the national attitudes of the intelligentsia were discussed; and finally, the question of recruitment into the intelligentsia was examined.
